Some green intellectuals and activists appear to be becoming numb to violence. The latest instance of this is over Gaza. If we want a peace-and-freedom loving environmentalism to be part of the political response to an era of disruption and collapse then we must work for that, even if futile. That can involve calling out influential people in environmentalism, but also becoming more aware of our own inner cravings that lead us away from wisdom and care.
