Subcultures of collapse – will there be a convergence?
Richard Hames is unusual for a mainstream left wing journalist for his critical discussion of societal collapse. He recently identified seven subcultures that engage with collapse in different ways. Hames suggests these subcultures may converge. In this essay I summarise and contextualise his analysis, with the aim of adding to a conversation about a solidarity-based politics for an era of collapse.
