Having founded the Deep Adaptation Forum in 2019 to help collapse-aware people to support each other and develop helpful practices and responses, this day two years ago I left, so that it would be an initiative shaped by its participants. It was heartening, therefore, to receive an update from them today, highlighting some of the participant-led activities that are coming up. In case you don’t know about what they do, here is that update. I recommend joining something, or even proposing something. As climate anxiety grows, yet experts denigrate us for compassionate realism, it is important we give ourselves opportunities to experience how brilliant human beings can be.
You can create and host an event the Deep Adaptation Forum on a DA-related topic of your choice. Contact Igor or Terry for more information.

Dear Professor Bendell,
With the support of Javier Manzanares, former GCF-CEO, I am promoting the integration between the world of the locally-led climate adaptation & resilience with the Web3 world (we could call it UN-DAO for now).
Last week I attended Devcon, the biggest event of the blockchain community in the world and I have a speech about this, mentioning that this year a group leaded by yourself presented the UN a letter suggesting to replace the SDGs for a more sincere agenda focused on locally-led climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction.
You can see my speech here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fu0ac7tKTGc&t=5350s (Hour 1:22).
Probably my framing of “1.5 degrees means 1.5 disasters a day”, including electricity infrastructure loss and so the internet, caught the attention of the Devcon audience.
Before and after my talk at Devcon I held bilateral conversations with Web3 experts and ImpactDAO designers, in order to set the stage and think together how could your proposed agenda could become true and implemented under the web3, considering blockchain was originally created to support locally-led decentralized actions like this one.
In this regard, I would love to explore the possibility of facilitating an event with your vision´s support and bring together relevant actors into an ecosystem of players to design together a Charter of the new “UN-DAO” and even launch some pilots over the examples shown in my presentation.
Maybe then we could have tangible results aligned with the science and so tackle the absence of time to adapt to climate change and avoid civilization collapse.
Looking forward to your feedback,
Best regards.
